The custom-made body - legal aspects of bioprinted tissue and organs

چکیده
Progress in bioprinting, combining 3D printing technology and the science to grow human tissue in the laboratory, elicits legal analysis as to if and how the law protects a patient’s life, health and confidentiality. We argue that the Federal Data Protection Act and the Medicinal Products Act provide ample protection to the recipient of printed tissue and organs. This paper focuses on the legal situation in Germany.
